Pearl and Bead Stringing
Give your pearl, gemstone, or fashion necklaces new life or create a new design. We recommend having necklaces restrung and clasps checked, aligned, and tightened about every five years. That’s because the medium on which these pearls, beads, or gemstones are hung can stretch and break. To avoid loss if a break occurs, we suggest individual hand knotting between each bead.
How does the process work when you bring in a necklace?
- Photograph of your necklace
- Bead count
- Suggestion of proper stringing medium for restoration
- Clasp inspection
Please note: All newly knotted necklaces will come back slightly shorter due to the tight knotting and the new stringing medium. All necklaces that were unknotted previously and then knotted individually will be longer. Often with multi-strand necklaces we suggest that all strands are restrung at the same time to avoid alternating breakage. A great way to update a simple strand is to add a decorative diamond and/or gemstone clasp.
